I’m DONE!!!!

Final residency was held on campus yesterday and today.  My final presentations went well… was worried for nothing.  All that’s left is graduation on Sunday.

I highly recommend Franklin’s program.  It is an intense 18 months… but so worth it when it is finished.  If you are considering getting your MBA, give Franklin a call.

So how has life been since completing your MBA? Did you find it hard to find a job? I’m wanting to starting the MBA program but am nervous that in this economy that it won’t help much. Your thoughts would be appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Michelle

Well, I was not in the market for a new job. Has it helped me in my current setting, I think so. I definitely have a much broader insight into business practices and my project management skills were greatly improved. I think the MBA does make you a bit more “marketable” if you are looking… but the experience behind it is critical too. In this economy, I think an MBA may actually make your skill set more marketable… but I also think that in this economy, you may not be able to push the salary ceiling that might have been available a few years ago.

Long and short of it… If the finances are available to pursue your MBA, I would still go for it. I personally don’t think you can ever go wrong by extending your education.

Were most of your classmates in a similar position (ie not looking for a career or employer change)? I noticed that I did not see any statistics on job placement, I’m wondering if that may be why.

It was a mix… some were looking and some weren’t. If you contact Franklin’s graduate admissions office, you can probably get those statistics from them. They do have a lot of ongoing services for alumni in job search/placement. I frequently get invitations to job fairs, resume workshops, and similar events being hosted on campus and online.
